Economy

Bangkok is the center of Thailand’s economy and the country’s principal port. It is also the country’s financial center because it is home to over one third of Thailand banks as well as the Bangkok Stock Exchange. To foreigners, the capital of Thailand is known as Bangkok. But this is not the case for locals. For Thai people, it is officially known as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon.
