Autograph Tower - Jakarta's first supertall tower

INDONESIA - Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, will leave you in awe with its skyline. The most prestigious buildings in Indonesia are located in the city and some are even making its mark all over Asia Pacific. Furthering Jakarta’s place as one of the world’s great cities and topping the list of the tallest buildings in Indonesia is the Autograph Tower - Jakarta’s first supertall tower.

Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), Autograph Tower is anchoring the Thamrin Nine development and establishes an iconic presence on the city skyline. Further advancing Jakarta’s position as a dynamic center of commerce and cultural activity, Autograph Tower is a 383 meter tall skyscraper that has recently been topped out marking the latest milestone in the construction of the Thamrin Nine mixed-use development.This significant addition to Jakarta’s skyline is being developed by Putragaya Wahana. The project is being built with an estimated investment of IDR8tn ($480.8m). It is designed to integrate office spaces, retail and hospitality. Its neighboring tower which is another KPF designed building, Luminary Tower and connecting mixed use podium, these integrated buildings accommodate a number of programs and create an active hub for the development.

Autograph Tower is a 72 storey building with most of its floor will include a Grade A office space while some floors will have a penthouse office space. The upper floors of the building are set to house Waldorf Astoria Jakarta, which is a 6-star luxury hotel. To be managed by Hilton and expected to become operational in 2023, the hotel will include a total of 183 rooms, offering facilities such as an all-day dining restaurant and a specialty restaurant.

Autograph Tower is designed to achieve Greenmark Platinum certification. The tower have offset cores designed to block more than 50% of the west-facing facade to offer protection against the harsh western exposure and reduce heat gain and energy loads.It is also incorporated with a high-performance glass and horizontal shading elements across the facade to yield an overall envelope thermal transfer value (ETTV) of less than 40W/m². The tower’s footprint is recaptured as green space within the building and the new plaza that is fronting the lobby.

Designed to merge the concept of work, live and play, Autograph Tower even offers an occupiable spire for a unique, intimately scaled observation space that commands stunning views of the city from the tallest tower in Jakarta. Its illuminated columns of the public observation decks and exhibition spaces will be the building’s signature architectural features.

Aside from being the first supertall tower in Jakarta, Autograph Tower is even taller than New York City’s Empire State building making it the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere. The tower occupies a prominent site in the city which is located between the Old City to the north and including one of Jakarta’s most significant historic venues, the iconic Bundaran Hi Monument and the city’s Central Business District to the south. The construction of the building started in 2014 and is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
