The Straits Times After virus disruption, HSBC moves into new head office at MBFC

SINGAPORE - The start of phase two of the country's reopening yesterday has finally allowed HSBC Singapore to step up its move to the top floors of Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC) Tower 2.

The bank announced the relocation of its head office in September 2018 and initiated six months of renovation. This produced bright, modern work stations interspersed with informal meeting spaces, with sweeping views of Marina Bay, East Coast, Sentosa and beyond.

HSBC Singapore’s headquarters has been at 21 Collyer Quay since 1890. HSBC’s relocation of its head office is part of their aim to invest in the upgrading of HSBC premises across Singapore which includes its offices in Mapletree Business City and Claymore Branch and to also enable them to further service clients.

When Singapore started its phase two economic reopening on June 19, HSBC employees have started relocating into their brand new office location at Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2. Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 2 is a 50-storey building on 10 Marina Boulevard and is part of the larger Marina Bay Financial Centre. Just like Marina Bay Financial Centre Tower 1, MBFC tower 2 also features environmentally friendly architectural features such as energy-saving ventilation systems and sky terraces in order to decrease the building’s ambient temperature.
